The Institute of Credit Administration (ICA) is a prestigious and nationally recognized professional body for credit management, representing ultimately the credit industry in Nigeria since 1992. The Institute is committed to capacity building, professional certification and award of qualifications in credit management, recognised by credit industry across the globe. The Institute also provide world class specialist learning through collaboration with the Postgraduate School of Credit and Financial Management (PSCFM) for people in credit management, as well as those looking to acquire essential and advanced skills in credit management in accordance with norms prevalent globally.
In order to support easy employability of university graduates by the labour market, our Institute has developed and instituted Basic Credit Analysis Class (B-CAC) programme that runs for three months. Specialist Certificate Course in Credit Analysis is issued at the end of the programme.
Essentially, B-CAC is aimed at graduates who are currently undergoing their one year National Youth Service programme. While serving as added advantage in employment consideration into credit, banking and finance, accounting, marketing and sales department of organizations, the three months B-CAC is designed to nurture credit trainees to become team leaders, trainers and credit management managers of the future. B-CAC contributes to real productivity and efficiency gains, and can transform organization’s credit operation faster than the traditional orientation programme that most organizations run for their new credit control trainees.
With a little investment, a credit workforce trainee could progress from a foundation course to higher specialist knowledge in credit management upon completion of Basic Credit Analysis Class.
We give our student an edge by including work experience opportunity as part of benefits. Meaning that we try our best to see how job opportunity can come the way of our BCAC students by collaborating with companies’ credit/collection department. The companies may not have to pay but the experience will be good for the students’ CV. PSCFM will explore relationship with Chambers of Commerce members to secure work experience placement.
