ACADEMIC QUALITY LANDSCAPE IN FLUX

TWO PREDOMINATES: LEARNING OUTCOMES AND ETHICAL TRANSPARENCY

Over the years, Nigeria has experienced remarkable flux in its higher and further education landscape. As a specialist higher postgraduate independent institution with global clout, we have long questioned the present running of the education system which excludes direct checking of students experience, their eventual level of academic success, and the quality of their academic award. The present system of our education and the way it is structured, to say the least, is rather a means to an end, not an end in itself.

NIGERIAN UNIVERSITY GRADUATES MUST BE PREPARED TO BE GLOBAL CITIZENS …Work Ready And Future Ready

National and multinational employers, business leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, and corporate managers are frustrated by graduates’ lack of suitability for employment; to them, many graduates lack the transferable skills necessary in the fast-moving global economy, as well as the need for employers to respect the value of their qualifications. Another constraint is that some university graduates are holding qualifications that lack labour demands. Employers are now insisting that all learning programmes should be structured to precisely tally with areas needed to improve graduate employability with expected robust transferable skills capacity.

AFTER UNIVERSITY DEGREE, PSCFM NEXT

Founded in 1995, the Postgraduate School of Credit And Financial Management (PSCFM) is Nigeria’s top-tier specialist postgraduate higher education institution, offering taught courses in credit and financial risk management which are tailored to the needs of individuals, business and society. Like LPCMC, its affiliate in the United Kingdom, the focus of PSCFM is on lifelong learning as well as equipping individuals with the relevant transferable skills and qualifications in all areas of credit and financial risk management, combining professional qualifications with academic rigour to deliver high-class outcomes that helps its students and alumni to keep ahead of the curve in the global credit and financial risk management in the 21st-century business and economic environment.

HOW WE STAND OUT IN THE CROWD

PSCFM programmes have distinguished themselves from all other finance-related, banking-related, economics-related and general management-related programmes in Africa. Thematically, the structure of PSCFM’s programme modules and descriptors focuses on developing students in all areas of credit and financial risk management including credit risk management and modelling, business law, economics, financial risk analysis, credit and financial modelling and applied corporate finance, artificial intelligence for finance and data mining, and statistics for business, among others. We aim to bake students to fit into any spectrum of credit and financial risk management in different sectors of any nation’s economy. This makes PSCFM super unique from other bodies for credit and financial management or similar institution anywhere in Africa that is increasingly focusing on financial services, general management, leadership and corporate governance.

PROGRAMME DURATION AND TARGET AUDIENCE

PSCFM’s programme duration is twelve months of intensive classroom lectures covering all areas of credit and financial risk management. The programme focuses on fresh university graduates; those who have graduated from university a long time ago and are looking to obtain specialist qualifications in credit and financial management with a view to enhancing their chances of securing quick and well-paid employment or gaining promotion in the labour market. Graduates holding qualifications that have no immediate employment value can step into this programme. The programme also targets working-class credit and financial executives, as well as those recruited newly. Credit and financial personnel at officer’s level, supervisory, managerial and policy levels have the opportunity of applying for a study leave in this programme with PSCFM’s partner (LPCMC) up to six months for a short course in credit and financial management in London, the United Kingdom —taking at piece-meal or full-time within the six months period.
